Late Summer by the Lake, a male-identified Eurofaerie Gathering
GATHERING CALL!
WHEN: Saturday, August 21st to August 29, 2010.
WHERE: 'Haus-am-Wannsee' in Berlin.
COME AWAY WITH THE FAERIES to Berlin’s beautiful Wannsee Lake. We gather together with faerie friends from all over Europe and the whole world, for a week of summer-love, light and laughter. Expect faerie frolics, bodywork, outdoor fun and plenty of space to play. It is a chance for international encounters, workshops, and meditation. There will be Heart Circles for the body and soul. Song, dance and drumming are also an integral part of faerie life.
Join us to create a safe space in our nice little house just a few steps away from the lake, located in a forest, and just a short train journey from central Berlin.
THE FOCUS:
We are drawn by a desire for deeper connections to our fellow faeries, nature and ourselves. Heart Circle is the first place in which we build connections of community and compassion. We hope to open ourselves to new experiences, healing, and celebration of the joy and creativity that is our faerie nature. Participation in all activities is voluntary - be that on a cultural, practical or healing level.
However like all previous faerie gatherings, its atmosphere and success is very much dependent on what you make out of it. What you contribute adds to the very special energy of the event. So open your hearts, bring your ideas and feel free to organize and facilitate circles, country walks, workshops, rituals and the like.
[ some faeries may want to remain in Berlin for the "FolsomStreet fair" (actually on FuggerStrasse) which will happen one week later- we recommend you plan your city accommodations with other faeries or local venues early ]
THE VENUE:
The bungalow style house is similar to a small youth hostel and has enough space for about 50 Faeries. We have our own private beach, terrace, volleyball field, barbecue, and group tent. Some bicycles are also available. There is public gay beach nearby (for those who just can't get enough!), with boat rentals and water sports facilities available.
For people with disabilities access is very restricted and the area is not suitable for wheelchairs.
There will be a No-Dogs allowed policy (because the haus owners own one friendly dog and ask us that no other dogs be allowed to avoid dog-conflicts) .
The complete house and the group circle tent are designated as smoke- free areas. Smoking is possible on the terrace though.

ACCOMODATION:
There are rooms with bunk beds for four, six or eight people each, two bathrooms with showers, a storage room, a kitchen, a dining hall and a small group room. There will also be a group tent in the garden for all kind of activities such as heart circles (or Wrestling like lst time). You may also bring your own tent if you wish to have your own
private space (please inform us about that). Please let us know if you can't bring bedding and need to borrow it for the time of your stay. It is available from the Haus for a few extra Euros.

THE PRACTICALITIES:
Although we hope it will be a hot summer, bring rain gear and warm clothing , especially if you wish to stay in a tent. On the other hand don't forget towels and other essentials for the beach. Fancy bikinis for the possible 'Miss Wannsee Beach Contest' would also be a bonus. In addition it will be worth considering bringing a torch/flashlight as the paths from the main street through the woods, and the one down to the beach are only lit by moonlight.
We will be asking for volunteers to come forward in advance to plan dinner menus. Please let us know with your booking if you wish to be one of the main kitchen moms as we will need to know in advance what your shopping list
requirements will be. People with special needs (allergies, diets etc), should tell us well in advance so that we can take this into consideration.
As for atmosphere and decoration, faerie veterans know that we need to bring lots of colorful fabrics to decorate the circle room and altar. Dressing up is a big part of the faerie experience (for some faeries) so please bring costumes, drag, wigs, make-up, - in fact anything that will make you look fabulous (for yourself and others). CD players, drums, keyboards and other instruments also help add to the event.
LINGUA FRANCA &...:
•Although a lot of different languages will be spoken, the main language of the gathering is English.
•As with previous gatherings, beer and wine will be on sale.
•We recommend coming for the whole week as shorter stays do affect the gathering’s dynamics of trust, intimacy and fabulousness.
•We are looking forward to being with you and enjoying a week of faerie community.
The COSTS:
The price is set on a sliding scale and intended only to cover all costs.
The price includes all costs for the venue and land as well as all food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Plastic Winged Faeries (Less than 8.000 Euros income p.a.) 200 Euros
Glitter Winged Faeries ( 8.000 - 20.000 Euros p.a.) 250 Euros
Golden Winged Faeries (more than 20.000 Euros p.a.) 300 Euros
Diamond Winged Faeries... more than 300 Euros for the time of their stay.
Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds.

SPECIAL NOTE - FAERIE AUCTION at Wannsee:
Do you have items which could be sold at one of our famous auctions? Please bring books, clothing, drag, basically anything that you think might be nice for others. The money we make at the auction will be used to cover extra costs, support future faerie events or go to the faerie fund.
This will happen the same day as a Barbeque-grill party and "open-doors" where we would ask you to invite your Faerie-curious friends.
